Join us at Gina’s Garden, our family-run flower farm in Brightwater, Nelson, for a relaxed afternoon of hands on learning. Discover how we grow our exclusive dahlias from seed, divide tubers and care for them throughout the growing season.

Perfect for home gardeners, whether you are just getting started or looking to grow your confidence, this workshop will give you practical skills to take home and enjoy in your own garden.

Enjoy afternoon sweet treats, and a drink, while spending a peaceful winter afternoon in the garden.

With a maximum of eight participants, you'll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and get hands-on experience.

During the workshop you will learn:

  • Growing dahlias from seed

  • Gina’s Garden’s unique seedling naming system

  • Digging, dividing and storing dahlia tubers

  • Caring for your dahlias throughout the season

Your Workshop Experience Includes:

  • A two hour hands workshop

  • Exclusive Gina’s Garden dahlia tubers that you have divided yourself

  • Ten-pack tray of pre-sprouted dahlia seedlings

What to bring

We will provide everything you’ll need for the afternoon.

Digging and dividing dahlias can be a muddy job, so please wear gumboots and clothes you don't mind getting a little dirty.
